The 58th annual Brown County Rodeo is nearing, and the Brown County Fair Association will host the First Annual Brown County Rodeo Kickoff Party to celebrate the start of rodeo festivities.
The Kickoff Party will include live music by Guthrie Kennard, vendors, a cornhole tournament, and other family and kid friendly activities including a jumphouse. The event will take place on Saturday, May 28 from 6 p.m to 11 p.m. behind Teddy’s Brewhaus and on Baker Street from Hawkins to Fisk.
The vendor market is open to local artisans, free of charge. Several local vendors will be on hand providing their goods and services to rodeo fans and the community as a whole. Vendors must confirm a spot because space is limited. If you’re interested in becoming a vendor, you can contact Sheila at 325-642-0269.
Representatives of the Brown County Rodeo Committee have stated that their hope is that this event will give back to the businesses of Brownwood. The goal is to promote the rodeo while also celebrating Brown County as a whole.
Less than a month ago, thousands of people converged for the Cinco de Mayo Celebration in downtown Brownwood, which has become a hot spot for a variety of entertaining, community-centric events.
The Brown County Fair Association is excited about this opportunity and is hoping that this event continues to grow even bigger in the coming years.
The rodeo is a major fundraiser for the Brown County Fair Association which is responsible for the Brown County Youth Fair. Fundraisers like the rodeo help with maintenance of facilities and more importantly, scholarships for participating students.
The rodeo will take place at 8 p.m Thursday, June 2, Friday, June 3, and Saturday, June 4 at the Earl Q. Wilson Arena located on the Brown County Fairgrounds on U.S. Highway 377 South.
