AccelHealth CEO, Esther Taylor is proud to announce Dr. Roy Byrd, MD, has joined the AccelHealth Clinic in Brownwood.
Dr. Byrd is a native of Brownwood and is a graduate of Brownwood High School. He graduated in 2010 from the University of Texas at Austin, and spent the following year as a medical research assistant in the Department of Trauma Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. In 2015, he received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio.
Dr. Byrd completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2018. He has been practicing medicine in Brownwood since 2018 as a hospitalist at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. As a hospitalist, Dr. Byrd served as the physician director of Respiratory Services and was the hospital’s Chief of Staff in 2021. He is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
When asked why he chose to join AccelHealth, Byrd said, “I’m excited to join the AccelHealth team and continue to provide medical care in this community.”
