Brown County Commissioners met Monday morning, April 25. They first honored Air Evac Flight Nurse Keva Wright and presented her with the First Responder Recognition. North Lake Community Church also presented Keva with a $100 gift card to United Supermarket to thank her for her service. She is one of four honored for the quarterly award but was unable to attend the commissioner’s meeting last week when the other three were honored.

- The Brown County Burn Ban remains in effect
- Commissioners gave approval to the Arts Council to allow use of courthouse electricity during the Cinco de Mayo festivities. Steven McCrane explained that the Arts Council will pay for Wilson Electric to temporarily tap into an outdoor electrical panel to provide needed power for a half dozen vendors.
- Two bids were received for a roller compactor for Precinct 1. Commissioner Gary Worley received one bid via e-mail from Kirby Smith Machinery in the amount of $128,265 for a 2018 model with 600 hours. The second bid was from Warren Cat on a 2019 model with 950 hours for $72,162. Commissioners approved the low bid from Warren Cat to be paid for out of Precinct 1 funds.
- Commissioners heard a request by Steve Adams with Winchell Volunteer Fire Department and agreed to pay the $17 per radio monthly maintenance fee on portable two-way radios programmed to the Brown County LCRA radio system. Precinct 1 Commissioner Gary Worley will personally pay for the $200 programming fee of the radios.
- Commissioners approved a request from Sheriff Vance Hill to purchase a 15 passenger inmate transportation van in the amount of $29,431 to be paid for through the inmate commissary fund.
