The Blanket Lady Tigers finished in a tie for second place at the Region III-A girls golf tournament earlier this week and will be headed to the UIL Class A girls golf state tournament at Plum Creek Golf Course in Austin May 16-17.
Blanket’s Karli Kinkade won the individual regional championship with a 201 following rounds of 94 and 107, trailed by Brook Crawford from Graford (92-119=211) and Briana Miles from Kopperl (100-121=221).
The rest of the Lady Tigers roster included Karlee Varner (120-135=255), Katherine Saladana (130-136=266) and Allie Hodges (138-147=285).
Graford won the regional championship with a 936 team score, while Henrietta Midway also qualified as a team with a 1,007 score.
Moving on to state as medalists are Richland Springs’ Sierra Tharp (108-116=224) and Three Way’s Cara Bolt (116-114=230).
The top three teams, and top three golfers not on a qualifying team, earn state berths.
