Four Brown County first responders were recognized Monday morning during a meeting of County Commissioners Court. They were nominated for going above and beyond the call of duty in serving their employers and the citizens of Brown County.
Present to receive their awards were Rain Brigman and Jasmine Ables, both with Lifeguard EMS, and Cliff Martin of the Blanket Volunteer Fire Department. Also honored was Keva Wright, flight nurse for Air-Evac.
Rain Brigman and Jasmine Ables were nominated as a result of their “incredible support and sensitivity to A.W. Allen of Bangs in the early morning hours of February 11, 2022, after he had fallen.”
Cliff Martin “has been a pillar of Blanket VFD for over 15 years. He can be counted on in the most stressful situations and makes calm, clear decisions when needed the most.”
Keva Wright is a flight nurse for Air Evac Lifeteam in Brownwood. “Keva continually shows selfless acts in her profession and for her peers. She is always willing to help in any way she can, regardless of the situation.”
Each honoree was presented a $100 gift card to United Supermarket courtesy of the members of North Lake Community Church in May, Texas represented by Dee Hart. NLCC Pastor Ron Keener was present representing the Brown County Chaplains who decide on the quarterly first responder selections through the office of Brown County Emergency Manager Darrell Johnston.
