The Early Longhorns bounced back from Tuesday’s District 8-3A loss to league leader Brock with a 9-5 home victory over Peaster Friday.
The second-place Longhorns improved to 8-2 in district action and 13-4 on the season, while third-place Peaster slipped to 7-3 in league play and 11-8 overall.

The Longhorns remained two games behind Brock (18-3, 10-0), which defeated Bangs by a 13-7 count Friday.
The Dragons fell to 5-12 overall and 1-9 against league competition.
