During Monday night’s meeting of the Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees, board president Michael Cloy announced East Elementary principal Dee Dee Wright has earned a principal of the year accolade from a prestigious teaching organization within the state.
Cloy told those in attendance that, “The Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) recognizes 20 school leaders each year selected by their peers. The regional TEPSAN of the Year award celebrates leaders who go above and beyond. Ms. Wright’s colleagues in our region wanted to recognize the outstanding achievement gains that East Elementary has made under her leadership. The nominating committee was most impressed with her campus moving from an F accountability rating, and we don’t like to say that, in 2019 to a Blue Ribbon School nominee in 2022.”
