GEORGETOWN – Howard Payne University’s Kyle Anderson finished seventh overall leading the Yellow Jacket men’s golf team to a seventh place finish at the West Region Invitational held at the Berry Creek Country Club and hosted by Southwestern University. Anderson tied school record for lowest round
The Yellow Jackets as a team shot a 917 (311-304-302) to finish T-7th overall in the three round tournament.
Kyle Anderson was HPU’s leader shooting a 220 (77-68-75) to finish 7th overall. Kyle was sixth in Par 4 scoring (+3) and seventh in Par 5 scoring (-1) in the tournament. Kyle tied the school record for lowest round with his second round score of 68. That was also his previous personal best which he is tied with Andrew Errico and current teammate, Kaleb Brown.
Jake Agerstein finished with a 231 (81-76-74) T-27th, Brady Nelson was T-32nd overall with a 233 (76-80-77), and Harrison Hopson ended with a 234 (81-76-77) T-34th.
Kaleb Brown was T-42nd with a 237 (81-80-76) and Lucas Kinkade was T-48th with a 240 (79-80-81).
The Yellow Jackets will complete next at the American Southwest Conference Championships April 29-May1 in Granbury, Texas at The Nutcracker Golf Club.
