Connie Jo (Harper) Smith

Connie Jo (Harper) Smith, age 84, of Brownwood left her earthly home Monday, March 28, 2022. She now begins to enjoy her eternal life and join family that have gone before her.

Graveside Services for Connie will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Greenleaf Cemetery. There is no set visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Connie was born January 21, 1938, to Jack and Atha (Crye) Harper in Coleman. She lived most of her life in Brownwood. She was a graduate from Bangs High School. She married Bobby W. Smith on May 17th, 1958, there were 4 children born to this union: Barbara, Bobby, Carol, and Larry.

Connie was a stay-at-home mother until her children entered school. During those years she ran an in-home childcare. She then worked at Roy’s Drive-In, TG&Y, and Dairy Queen then took a break to further her education. After graduating from Central Texas Commercial College, she started her longtime career in the healthcare field. She enjoyed working in her yard, was an avid reader, and loved a good garage sale and enjoyed attending church.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby W. Smith; her son, Larry Smith; parents, Jack Harper and Atha Goodman; and 2 brothers, Dennis and Kenneth Harper.

Connie is survived by her children, Barbara Rector and husband Jack, Carol Pierson and husband Jimmy, and Bobby J. Smith; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
