The Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions golf teams both finished in second place at the Bluebonnet Invitational, held Monday at The Hideout.
The Lions carded a 331 team score, which trailed only Class 5A Abilene Wylie’s composite total of 328.
Sir Bubba Jones fired the low round of the day with a 75, while Hudson Reagan was fourth with an 81. Eric Waldrop posted an 86, Caleb Modawell carded an 89 and Cobe Walker contributed a 95 to round out the Lions team scores.
Competing as medalists, Liam McNeese turned in an 81 and Andrew Boren fired a 112.
The Lady Lions notched a 414 team score, which trailed only Wall’s tally of 348.
Leading the charge for the Brownwood girls were Hailey Martindale with a 93 trailed by River Jones with a 105, London England with a 107, Tristyn Garcia with 109, and Sydney Dyess with a 112.
In medalist action, Rylie Morton carded a 113 and Natalie Edmonds turned in a 119 for the Brownwood girls.
