Against Tolar, the Lions (2-6-1) tallied six runs in the bottom of the first inning after yielding one run in the top of the frame. Brownwood then tacked on single runs in the second and fourth innings.
Brownwood finished with six hits as Cole Miller doubled, tripled and drove in a run; Case Markham doubled and plated a runner; David Turner finished with a hit and two RBIs; Kyle Ivy singled and collected an RBI; Stevie Ramirez chalked up a hit; and Aiden Howard recorded an RBI.
On the mound, Logan Posey pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing two hits with four strikeouts. Miller gave up three runs on one hit with two strikeouts in 2.2 innings. The duo combined to issue five walks and the Brownwood defense committed one error.
Against Boyd, the Lions took a 2-1 in the top of the sixth Brownwood gave up a run in the bottom half which led to a time limit tie.
Brownwood finished with four hits as Gavin Brandstetter homered and drove in two, while Jakob Hataway and Ivy both singled.
Ivy tossed all six innings and yielded one earned run on four hits with seven strikeouts and two walks. The Brownwood defense committed two errors.
The Lions are slated to face Grandview at 11:15 a.m. Friday, weather permitting.
