LLANO – The Brownwood Lady Lions wrapped up play in the Llano softball tournament with a 9-1 win over Mason Saturday night.
Brownwood scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning, two in the second and three in the fourth, while giving up a run in the top of the fourth.
The Lady Lions produced eight hits – two by Hailey Eisenhauer, who tallied three RBIs; two by Annie-Klein Allgood, who drive in one; one by Chelsey Covey, who plated two runners; one each by Mia Lopez and Cecilia Rodriguez, who each collected an RBI; and one by Chloe Walls.
In the circle, Allgood allowed one run on four hits with three strikeouts and one walk in four innings of work.
The Brownwood defense committed two errors.
Earlier Saturday, the Lady Lions registered a 17-0 triumph over San Angelo TLCA
Brownwood scored one in the first inning and added 16 runs in the second. The game ended after 2 ½ innings due to the time limit.
Tynlea Wilson pitched three innings and gave up one hit with two strikeouts to claim the win.
The Lady Lions tallied just five hits – two each by Wilson and Rodriguez, who both drove in three runs, and one by Lopez, who also knocked in two.
Brownwood drew 11 walks – three each by Allgood and Eisenhauer, two by Walls, and one apiece by Lopez. Rodriguez and Covey.
The Lady Lions (7-3) will be back in action Thursday, March 10 at the Graham tournament.
