SAN ANGELO – The Brownwood Lady Lions softball team suffered their first loss of the season Tuesday, falling at the hands of Class 6A San Angelo Central, 8-1.
Brownwood (3-1) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but Central (7-3) answered with four runs in the third, three in the fourth and a final run in the sixth frame.
The Lady Lions were limited to four hits – two each by Chloe Walls and Annie-Klein Allgood.
In the circle, Allgood yielded four earned runs on 12 hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
Defensively, Brownwood was charged with five errors.
The Lady Lions are back in action at 4:30 p.m. Friday at home against Breckenridge.
