Our dear Anita Kay Brice, age 79, of Brownwood passed away Monday, February 14, 2022, now residing in health and peace with her Heavenly Father.
Graveside Services for Anita will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at Greenleaf Cemetery with Bro. Ken Colegrove officiating; visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Anita was born on May 10, 1942, to Chester A. and Mae (Ingerman) Bennington in Dayton, Ohio. She attended Belmont Elementary School and graduated from Patterson High School. She was married to Berwyn Brice in 1962 and lived together as an Air Force couple in Okinawa, Japan, Oscoda, Michigan, Fort Worth, Texas, Guam, and Brownwood, Texas. They had two children, Lisa and James.
Among other jobs, she worked for and retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She was an active member and loved by her church family at the Brownwood Evangelism Center. She served as their Secretary/Treasurer.
Anita was a sweet soul and will be missed by all who ever knew her. During her final days at the Abilene Hendricks Hospital, the nurses and doctors all knew her as “The God Lady”, a testament to her strong and enduring faith.
Anita is survived by her son, James Brice of Jackson, Tennessee; her brother, Gene Bennington of Sunriver, Oregon; and her church family and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Brice; and parents, Chester and Mae Bennington.
