Scalise Visits Goodfellow Air Force Base
It was an honor to welcome House Republican Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana, as well as Congressman Tony Gonzales, who represents Texas’ 23rd District, to San Angelo for a visit to Goodfellow Airforce Base yesterday.
Some of the best intelligence officers and specialized firefighters in the world are trained right here in San Angelo, and their expertise enables every branch of our military to carry out their missions.
During our visit, we toured the base, spoke with the dedicated men and women who put their lives on the line for our country, and watched an exciting demonstration from their Fire Academy.
San Angelo’s community partnership with Goodfellow is special, and I enjoyed bringing my colleagues to see first-hand the good work that is done here. We will continue working together to strengthen our military and provide for our service members and veterans.
Accountability for Colleyville
This week I led a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas with Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne and over 30 of our Republican colleagues demanding answers about Malik Faisal Akram, the foreign national and known criminal who took four people hostage in Colleyville, TX at the Beth Israel Congregation.
It has been four weeks since this hostage situation. While we can speculate how gaps in the federal vetting process allowed for a suspected criminal to enter the United States, we deserve full transparency from the federal officials charged with ensuring the security of our homeland.
Texans, and all Americans, deserve clear answers as to how a known criminal was allowed to enter the US and inflict terror on a Texas synagogue.

Biden’s Inflation
Reports released this week show that after only one year of Democrats’ one-party control, inflation has risen to 7.5% – the highest our country has seen in 40 years.
Inflation is a tax on all Americans, with the cost of food, electricity and rent driving the bulk of the spike.
Eggs are up 13.1%
Coffee is up 9.3%
Transportation is up 5.6%
Shelter is up 4.4%
In 2021, inflation cost the average worker nearly two paychecks, and 2022 is looking just as bleak.
The last time inflation was this bad, it was 1981. For some context… this is how my brother and I looked in 1982:
MACH 1 Caucus
Last week, I was joined by my fellow former fighter pilots in Congress in launching the MACH 1 Caucus.
I spent two decades of my life flying fighters: deployed in combat and studying threats around the world. One of the most critical advantages we have as a country is our ability to deliver airpower—not just tactical power or strikes.
Today, our dominance in airpower is under threat. We are facing cuts to training hours, retention issues, technology shortages, health complications in pilots, and the ever-increasing aggression from Communist China–to name a few.
As Airmen, our caucus will focus on combatting these issues and more.
Read the Forbes coverage of our Caucus here or below.
Midland Over Moscow
This week I joined Fox News at Night to discuss the current crisis in Ukraine. President Biden should be putting Midland over Moscow. Unfortunately, his weakness has done nothing but put money in Putin’s pockets & embolden aggression against our allies.
