Bobby Glen Smith, age 72, of Bangs passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 peacefully at his home. A visitation for Bobby will held Monday, February 7th from 6 to 8 pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, February 8th at 10 am in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.
Bobby was born on Monday, March 21, 1949 in Coleman, TX to Oscar and Betty Smith. He graduated from Abilene High School and continued his education at University of Texas Arlington to get a Degree in Engineering. Bobby married Wanda Bullard on April 29, 1978 and the two of them, began a life together that blessed them with 3 children. Bobby served in the United States Navy on the USS Little Rock, as a Radar Operator and Engineer. He later went on to work for Bell Textron as an Engineer, and earning numerous awards during his carrier. Bobby enjoyed playing computer games and watching the Rangers and Dallas Cowboys play. He loved working with his hands, being a Ham Radio Operator, and also building trains. Most of all Bobby loved spending time with his wife and family.
Bobby is survived by his wife Wanda Smith of Bangs, TX; daughters, Amanda Carpenter and husband Alonzo of Springtown, TX and Angela Smith of Euless, Texas; son Robin Smith of Bangs, TX; mother Betty Smith of Abilene, TX; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Oscar Eugene Smith; 2 grandsons, James Michael Shannon and Ingram Alonzo Carpenter.
