As of 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters from throughout Brown County were still battling a grass fire on County Road 135 with several structures threatened. Those in the path of the fire were receiving word about the potential need to evacuate.
The heaviest smoke as of 1:15 p.m. was near the 1600 block of CR 135.
At 6 p.m., the Lake Brownwood Fire Department posted on its Facebook page that the fire was held to 58.88 acres and the loss of one shed was reported. The cause of the fire was a downed powerline.
