The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Tuesday afternoon:
Lisa Robinson
On Saturday, January 15, 2022, at approximately 1:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to an address in the 1100 block of 1st St. regarding a report of an assault. The 911 caller stated to Communications that she was being attacked by a woman holding a knife.
When officers arrived, they located the adult female victim inside her residence. She was holding the bedroom doorknob; attempting to keep someone inside that room. Officers were able to remove the victim and opened the door and identified 58-year-old Lisa Leona Robinson, of Brownwood, as the suspect.
Robinson was yelling that the knife was not intended for the victim but that she needed an ambulance. Robinson was detained and removed from the residence.
An investigation commenced and the victim explained that Robinson is a neighbor whom she looks after since Robinson’s home recently caught fire. On this date, the victim was lying in her bed when she heard footsteps in her hallway. As she sat up in the bed, Robinson suddenly opened the door and jumped onto the bed, lunging at the victim with a knife. Robinson was yelling at the victim and accusing her of “sleeping with Mario” who happens to be Robinson’s imaginary boyfriend. The victim was able to avoid any stab injuries and only received minor abrasions from the knife and scuffle on the bed. The victim was able to get away from Mrs Robinson then keep her inside the bedroom while phoning 911.
It was apparent to officers on scene that Robinson was suffering from delusion and appeared to be heavily under the influence of an illegal narcotic. Robinson was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail where she was charged with Aggravated Assault w/a Deadly Weapon, Burglary of a Habitation and Injury to an Elderly Person.
