The Bangs Lady Dragons dropped a narrow 39-32 decision at Brock Friday night, falling to 8-15 on the season and 2-3 in District 8-3A action following the setback.
Bangs trailed Brock (12-9, 4-1) by a 19-13 count at halftime, 24-20 through three quarters and cut the deficit to 33-30 with a minute left, but couldn’t complete the upset.
Maggie Morales scored 15 points for Bangs and Brooklann Mullins added 12.
The Lady Dragons host No. 5 Peaster at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The Early Longhorns, meanwhile, slipped to 1-2 in district and 14-8 overall with a 69-38 road loss to Peaster.
The Longhorns will attempt to bounce back at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Eastland.
Vic Cooper again paced Early with 14 points trailed by John Hill with six, Jeremy Brown and Dalton Adams with four each, and John-Stewart Gordon and Kaleb Hoffman with three points apiece.
In other league action, the Early Lady Horns (8-12, 2-3) were defeated by No. 5 Peaster, 108-19, and the Bangs Dragons (2-8, 0-3) were downed by No. 4 Brock, 79-30.
