A graveside funeral service for Ronda Heather, age 94, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Eastlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Ronda passed from this life on Monday, January 3, 2022, in a local nursing facility.
Ronda Cox Heather was born on March 12, 1927, in Energy, Texas to Perry and Grace Cox. She attended Gustine schools along with her three sisters and one brother and graduated from Brownwood High School. Ronda married Charles Heather in October 1947, in Brownwood, Texas. They became the proud parents of two daughters, Nancy (1951) and Holly (1954). Together they made their home in Johnson City, Gatesville, Port Lavaca, and Brownwood. Ronda loved to cook and sew for her family and was a proud “Mawie” to her grandchildren. She was a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Grace Cox, and sisters, Doris Smith, Ganelle Cheves, Wanda Powers, and brother, Horace Cox.
Ronda is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Spears and husband Wayne of Oviedo, Florida, and Holly Smith and husband Jeff of Arlington, Texas. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Kelly McLean and husband Tim of Jemison, Alabama, Lesley Kristeff and husband Andre of Oviedo, Florida, Patrick Smith of Arlington, Texas, and Heather Smith of Arlington, Texas. Great grandchildren include Elijah and Easton Kristeff of Oviedo, Florida, and Reagan, Fallon, and Finley McLean of Jemison, Alabama.
