Laneta was born on October 6, 1940, in Mills County to J.L. and Annie Marie Singleton. She attended school in Early and graduated with the class of 1959. She married Charles Keeton on October 1, 1960, and they remained married until his passing on September 7, 2005. They had two children, Calvin and Tammy. She was a loving mother; she often volunteered as room mother while they attended school. A sincere caregiver that put others first.
Laneta worked at Head Start as a childcare giver and also worked as clerk for Loudermilk Cleaners. Her career was working at Sears and Robuck were she retired after 27 years.
She was a member of Salt Creek Baptist Church where she attended for many years. She was also a member of the Owens Extension Club and the Red Hat Society. She loved to socialize at the Senior Citizens Center with many lifelong friends. That’s where she met her husband, David Carroll. They were married on February 15, 2014. The couple was once nominated for sweetheart and beau for Valentine’s Day.
Laneta had a heartwarming smile that showed her love for the Lord. She enjoyed being outside gardening or just feeling the warm sun. She had a green thumb and could grow a stick into a tree. She also loved to paint.
She will be missed greatly by those she leaves behind.
