Michael C. Taylor, age 78, of Coleman, died Saturday, December 18, 2021, at his residence.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman, Texas. Interment will follow in the Valera Cemetery in Valera, Texas. Viewing will begin at 8:00 a.m. Monday, December 27, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman, Texas.

He was born Michael Clyde Taylor on April 13, 1943, in Kilgore, Texas to Doyle C. Taylor and Sally F. Glass Taylor. With his father working in the oil field, Michael grew up in several different places. He called Lovington, New Mexico home and graduated from Lovington High School. Michael then attended New Mexico Jr. College. He was an expert car salesperson and then went to work for A&M Machine Works, Inc. in Hobbs, New Mexico. He worked there in sales and worked his way up to Field Supervisor. Michael married Carolyn Glenn Saxon on May 4, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were married 29 years. Michael and Carolyn moved to Coleman in 2013 from Hobbs, New Mexico.

Michael had a passion for life and having fun. If he could make you smile and laugh, his mission was accomplished. He loved to have fun in any adventure he took. Michael loved working on classic cars, riding his motorcycle, and going hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He always enjoyed going to lunch with his buddies and was president of the BS group. Michael loved his family. When he and Carolyn were married, it was a perfect combination; making his family bigger and making his heart filled with love for everyone. His crazy wit, laughter, and radiant personality will be missed.

Preceding Michael in death are his parents, Doyle and Sally Taylor; one son, Michael Shawn “Mikey” Higgins; and his sister, Sally Potts.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Taylor of Coleman, Texas; his children, Justin and Ann Saxon of Plains, Texas, Sherry and Craig Smith of Midland, Texas, Andy and Amy Higgins of Tokyo, Japan, Tye and Edith Taylor of Lovington, New Mexico, Mika and Patrick Brown of Levelland, Texas, and Chance Taylor of Lubbock, Texas; his grandchildren, Jaicee Sutton and husband Holden, Katie Saxon, Andie Jayne Saxon, Kinlee Saxon, Eric Smith, Reagan Smith, Morgan Higgins, Taylor Olson, Brittany Taylor, J.R. House and wife Danyelle, Shala Wisdom and husband Chad, Sidney Loucks and husband Austin, and Braden Taylor and wife Racheal Higgins; and his great-grandchildren, Shamus House, Baylee Fisher, Braxton Fisher, Brooks Fisher, Braelyn Hernandez, Emersyn Hernandez, and Ryder Hernandez.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Michael to the Coleman Home Health and Hospice, 115 West Street, Coleman, Texas 76834 or to the ALS organization at www.als.org.

Remembrances and condolences can be expressed to the family at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Taylor family.
