BANGS – The Early Lady Horns opened District 8-3A girls basketball action with a 32-24 road victory over the Bangs Lady Dragons Tuesday night.
Early (6-7, 1-0) led Bangs (6-9, 0-1) by an 8-6 count after one quarter and 17-15 at halftime, but faced a 19-18 deficit heading into the fourth period, where the Lady Horns owned a 14-5 scoring advantage.
Taylor Summers led Early with 12 points followed by Dana Lykes with 11, Madison Torrez with five and Caroline Welker with four points.
For Bangs, Jacee Miller tallied 11 points trailed by Maggie Morales with six, Brooklann Mullins, Rylie Guerrero and Joey Newton with two each and Raylee Hutchins with one point.
Early hosts Comanche Friday while Bangs ventures to Dublin.
