BALLINGER – The Early Longhorns posted a 4-0 record at the Ballinger Invitational over the weekend, improving to 8-5 on the season.
The Longhorns defeated Coleman (65-63), San Angelo Lake View (69-31), Junction (84-28), and Menard (72-34).
The Early boys will next host Ballinger at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Early Lady Horns won their final two games at the Ballinger tournament.
After an opening 45-31 loss to Veribest, the Lady Horns knocked off Sweetwater, 44-40, and Coleman, 50-48.
Against Sweetwater, Dana Lykes paced the Lady Horns with 16 points followed by Jordan Simmons with 12, Taylor Summers with nine, Carrigan Norris with six and Jodie Lykes with one point.
Versus Coleman, Summers led the way with 15 points followed by Lykes with 11, Norris, Caroline Welker and Madison Torrez with seven each, and Simmons with three points.
The Lady Horns open District 8-3A basketball action at Bangs at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
