The Lions (10-3) also knocked off Anson (91-37), the San Angelo Central JV (97-44) and San Angelo TCLA (86-61) in weekend action.
“Our guys finished all of our games really well, wore opponents down, and did what we needed to do to win,” said Lions first-year head coach Will Parker. “We learned a lot about what we need to improve on defensively and that’ll be our focus this final full week of practice before the break.
“Tournaments are a great opportunity to go through highs and lows quickly, talk about those things as a team and be able to improve moving forward. I believe our seniors are learning and improving at an incredible rate and the younger guys are following suit.”
Against Coleman, the Lions led 25-19 after one quarter, 46-38 at halftime, and 81-53 through three frames.
Jakob Hataway poured in 31 points to pace the Brownwood attack followed by Bryson Monroe with 18, Luke Moss with 17, Christian Kinzler with 16, Ike Hall with seven, Tristan Salinas and Seth Oines with four each and Thad Hinds with two points.
For Coleman (2-4), Braxton Smith tallied 35 points followed by David Navarro with 11 points, and Adam Mason with eight.
The Lions will host Abilene Cooper at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and visit Wichita Falls Rider at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
