The Lady Lions (9-4) led 14-4 after one quarter, 22-10 at halftime, and 32-13 through three frames. Brownwood shot 29 percent (16 of 55) from the field, 14 percent (2 of 14) at the three-point arc, and 42 percent (8 of 19) at the free throw line. The Lady Lions also committed 15 turnovers, created 16 steals, and grabbed 39 rebounds.

Jaylen Savage scored a team-high 14 points for Brownwood trailed by 10 points from Tessa Goodwin, seven from Kynslee Walker, four from Mady Pyle, three from Kassidy Wooten, and two points apiece from Lexi Greer and Brianna Castaneda.

Gatesville (2-4) was led by Taylor Coward with 12 points. No other Lady Hornet scored more than three.

The Lady Lions resume Lorena tournament action at 9:30 a.m. Saturday against Robinson.
