Jerald worked for Claytonville Gas Plant and Coastal States in Sweetwater, J.L. Davis West Texas Gas in Midland, and Custom Agriculture in Coleman. That is what he found in farming and ranching which he did for over 42 years. Being civic minded, Jerald served on the Coleman County Water Board, Farm Service Agency Board, Novice School Board and was a member of the Novice Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a life-long resident of Coleman County and a member of the Novice United Methodist Church.
Jerald loved Jesus evidenced by the devotion he showed to his wife and family. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jerald was proud of them all and supported their endeavors with encouragement and wise counsel. Extended family gatherings with his siblings, nieces, and nephews were cherished.
He was affectionately known as “Uncle Jerald” to many in his community, conveying his willingness to put others first. He was a mentor and friend to the men sitting around the table at the Novice Store drinking coffee. He was happy, kind, generous, patient and you knew he cared by his sincere smile. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
