HAMILTON – The Brownwood Lady Lions overcome a rough offensive outing to remain undefeated as they withstood host Hamilton, 37-29, Friday to advance to the championship game of the Hamilton tournament.

The Lady Lions (6-0) raced out to a 19-6 lead after one quarter, which stood at 27-18 at halftime, and shrank to 32-27 heading into the fourth quarter. Brownwood yielded just one bucket over the last eight minutes to secure the win.

Jaylen Savage led Brownwood with 14 points, Alexa Arreola chipped in 11, and Kynslee Walker and Mady Pyle contributed six points apiece for all the Lady Lions scoring.

Brownwood converted four three-pointers, with three of those coming in the first period, and sank just 3 of 9 free throws.

The Lady Lions will wrap up tournament action at 9:15 a.m. Saturday.
