John Travis Egger, age 57, of Brownwood, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 in Brownwood. Graveside services for Travis will be held on Thursday, November 18, at 10:00AM at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 17, from 6-8PM at Heartland Funeral Home.

Travis was born on November 3, 1964 to Johnny and Jane Egger in Brownwood. He married Melissa McGuffey on September 9, 2010 in Brownwood. His favorite thing was spending time with his grandchildren, Rylee, K’Lee, and Toree, and watching his grandson Rylee show his lambs. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye, and his biggest pleasure. Travis also loved getting to help his father-in-law remodel his house. He was also a big George Strait fan. Travis attended many of his concerts and even had a George Strait song as a ringtone on his phone.

Travis is survived by his wife, Melissa Egger of Brownwood; 2 daughters, Jessica Kidd and Jordan Egger; stepchildren Ashley McGuffey and Steven McGuffey; father and stepmother, Johnny and Flora Egger; and 4 grandchildren, Rylee, K’Lee, Toree, Lynix. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jane Egger.

Condolences, memories and tributes can be offered to the family online at heartlandfuneralhome.net.
