Mary Dean Morgan, age 89, of Coleman, died Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Holiday Hill Nursing Home Allen Center.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 1921 Early Boulevard, in Early with Rev. Richard Hetzel officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Park. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
She was born Mary Dean Wisener on January 12, 1932, in Coleman to Gene T. Wisener and Bessie Juanita Powe Wisener. Mary married Garland Dean Morgan on December 28, 1951, in Coleman. She was a graduate of Howard Payne University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Education degree and then graduated from Tarleton State University with a Master of Education degree. Mary taught English for the Brownwood Independent School district for over 20 years. She was a member of the Texas State Teachers Association, Texas Retired Teachers Association, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mary loved teaching and helping students achieve their goals. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coleman.
Preceding Mary in death are her parents, Gene and Bessie Wisener; her son, Michael Lee Morgan; and her sister, Betty J. Wisener.
She is survived by her husband, Garland Dean Morgan of Coleman; one daughter, Judy Ann Morgan of Coleman; one brother, Gerald T. Wisener and wife Brenda of Coleman; two grandchildren, Sarah Kryzstofik and husband John, and Michael Schlabach and wife Haley; and four great-grandchildren, Halynn Simmons, Jaxon Simmons, Ivy Simmons, and Elizabeth Kryzstofik.
Memorials are requested in memory of Mary to Interim Hospice, 120B South Park Drive, Brownwood, Texas 76803.
