Galen Robbins

Galen Robbins, age 85, of Richland Springs passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Songbird Lodge.

Memorial Services for Galen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Shiloh Bible Church with Bro. Bill Slaymaker officiating; private interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Galen was born on December 22, 1935, to Aubrey and Nila (Duey) Robbins in Phoenix, Arizona. He married Maxine Hibler Robbins on September 6, 1996, in Tomball, TX. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years as a Pilot’s Navigator. Galen loved being up in the air flying, which he continued flying throughout his life. He retired from Verizon after many years. He was a member of Shiloh Bible Church.

Galen is survived by his wife of 25 years, Maxine Robbins of Richland Springs; 4 children, Diane Mills and husband Tim of Maryland, Karen Lisle and husband Ray Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, Eddie Lord and wife Katy of May, and Mike Lord of San Marcos; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Don Robbins and wife Martha of Ft. Worth, and 2 sisters, Wanda Rogers and husband Jack of Houston, and Yvonne Kimsley of Houston. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Nila Robbins; one sister, Sharon Robbins; and daughter, Cheryl Clark.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Shiloh Bible Church Youth Fund (P.O. Box 216, Richland Springs, TX 76871), St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html) or a charity of one’s church.
