The Brownwood JV Lions remained undefeated, running their record to 8-0 overall and 3-0 against District 5-4A Division I competition with a 55-0 triumph over Alvarado Thursday night at Gordon Wood Stadium.
The Lions – who have outscored their eight foes 318-13 – were led by quarterback Ike Hall’s 190 passing yards and three touchdowns, with two scoring tosses going to Logan McKibben and one to Jake Jetton. The Lions also rushed for 150 yards as a team as Hall scored twice while rushing touchdowns also came from McKibben, Jetton and Xavier Zepeda.
The Lions defense posted its 6th shutout of the season behind the hard hitting of Sam Kallman and Hayden Deen. Jetton, Deen, Dylan McGee, David Turner, and Davis Le recording multiple tackles for loss along the defensive front. McGee added a sack, Turner and Deen each had a fumble recovery, and Jetton picked off a pass.
The JV Lions travel to Waxahachie Life next Thursday and finish their season in two weeks at home against Stephenville.

Freshman Lions 14, Alvarado 14
The Brownwood Freshman Lions intercepted a pass in the end zone on the final snap to preserve a 14-14 tie with Alvarado Thursday night in District 5-4A Division I action at Gordon Wood Stadium.
Ross Stresner’s pick kept the game tied after Trae Jones’ 88-yard touchdown run earlier in the fourth quarter allowed Brownwood to draw even at 14.
The Lions (5-2-1, 1-1-1) opened the scoring in the second quarter on a 7-yard run by Antonio Ybarra, who also added the two-point conversion for an 8-0 edge.
Alvarado knotted the score at 8 before halftime and scored on a 30-yard fumble return in the third period to grab a 14-8 lead – one of three turnovers committed by the Lions.
Defensive standouts included Kenyan McDowell (3 tackles, 2 PBU), Enrique Vasquez (3 tackles), Weston Wolf (3 tackles, 1 TFL), Nathaniel Rodriguez (3 tackles, Fumble Recovery), and Ross Strasner (2 tackles, INT).

Llano 40, Combined Team 14
The Lions scored on a 40-yard pass from Ty Tindol to Easton Judkins, then Tindol converted the two-point try. Later, Gray Stewardson reached the end zone on a 13-yard touchdown run.
Leading the way defensively were Stewardson (6 tackles, 3 TFL), Case Burnett (6 tackles), Zakk Zabecki (4 tackles), Jonathan Bush (4 tackles), and Caleb Grabast (3 tackles, PBU).
