Mrs. Bettie Louise Witt, age 86, of Coleman, passed away Wednesday morning, October 6, 2021.

She was born May 3, 1935, in Plainview, Texas, the daughter of the late John and Virgil Dean.

Bettie was a wonderful woman that provided love and care for many over the years. She provided service as a healthcare giver and touched the hearts of all those she met. You never left her home hungry, she always made sure you were fed well. All her family will remember waking up to the smell of bacon frying and her asking how you would like your eggs. Grandma (aka Memaw, Granny Goose) will be dearly missed!

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, by her siblings J.P. Dean, James Dean, Bobby Dean, Billie Dean, Beatrice Dean (twin), and Othell Dean, and by her husband, Thomas Witt. She is survived by daughter Linda Gatlin of Temple; daughter Betty Conner and her husband, Neil Conner of San Angelo; son Woody Epperson and his wife, Toni Epperson of San Angelo; son Oscar Epperson of Coleman; son Charles Witt and his wife, Sylvia of Tawakoni; and son Alvin Witt and his wife, Donetta Witt of Mineral Wells. She is also survived by her companion, Michael Funderburg.

Bettie had nine grandchildren: Miranda Drake, Deann Hubble, Daniel Epperson, Clinton Conner, Niki Bancroft, Nathan Conner, Chet Witt, Brian Epperson, and Amanda Nast. She had an abundance of great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman, Texas, with Neil Conner officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Stevens funeral home.

Bettie’s family will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank Dr. Atwood and the staff of the Coleman Hospital for their care of Bettie. We would also like to thank Michael Funderburg for all the love, care and support he provided for Bettie over the past thirteen years.

Remembrances and condolences can be expressed to the family via the virtual guestbook at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Witt family.
