LUBBOCK – The Brownwood Lady Lions turned in a runner-up team performance during the Class 4A portion of the Lubbock Invitational cross country meet Saturday morning.
The Lady Lions produced 115 points, which left them behind only meet champion Canyon (27). Among the teams Brownwood bested were Hereford (118 points), Levelland (118), Dumas (130), Andrews (170), Perryton (200), Tornillo (205), San Angelo Lake View (280), Pampa (288), Lubbock Estacado (322), Big Spring (323), Midland Greenwood (331), Seminole (338), Pecos (358), and Iowa Park (380).
Brownwood’s average time was 13:47.5, as freshman Sidney Windham led the charge with a 12th place time of 13:22.9 followed by fellow freshman Kate Tindol in 13th place with a 13:23.9. Sophomore Emma Stegemoller was 23rd in a time of 13:48.4 followed by freshman Talia Craff (26th, 13:54.3), freshman Braycee Lee (41st, 14:27.7), freshman Miranda Northcutt (47th, 14:33.8), and freshman Kylea Karnes (58th, 14:56.2).
The Lady Lions and Lions will be back in action Wednesday at the Dublin Dash.
