Ruth Green

Ruth Green, age 90, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was born on December 7, 1930, in Loop, Texas, to Alvy Dock and Lula Thelma (Bowden) Dewbre. On May 28, 1955, she was united in marriage to M. L. Green in Early, Texas, and together they raised three sons. M. L. preceded her in death on December 23, 2013. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and, when her sons were growing up she was very involved with all their activities. She spent her entire working life as a school teacher, not only teaching academics, but instilling in her students a sense of purpose and good citizenship. After many, many, years she retired from Comanche Independent School District. Ruth was a member of South Leon Baptist Church, Eastern Star, and Retired Teachers of Texas.

She is survived by her sons, Edwin Dock Green of Sipe Springs, Malcom Green and wife Debra of Fort Worth, and Cory Green and wife Donna of Pflugerville; grandchildren: Melinda Kidd and husband Latham, Jessica Green, Shelby Green, Hayden Green, Dathan Green, Seth Green, Courtney Green, Marcus Green and wife Angie, Cole Green, Josh Constancio and wife Sandy, Adam Constancio and wife Emily, and Yolanda McNutt and husband Stephen; ten great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and one sister, Mary Fern McKibben. She was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce McCord.

Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Friday, September 24, 2021, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County, Texas, with Rev. Steven Schulte officiating. Condolences may be offered on line at www.comanchefh.com

In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to Backpack Friends, Inc. (a nonprofit ministry feeding low-income children on weekends when school meals are not available) 3217 Hawks Swoop Trail, Pflugerville, Texas 78660; Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 222 Welborn, Dallas, Texas 76508; or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 815 Market Street, Galveston, Texas 77550-9969.
