A man from Ranger, Texas died as a result of injuries received in a two vehicle wreck Tuesday, August 24, 5.6 miles southeast of Early on U.S. Highway 84.
Joshua L. Chapa, 36, of Ranger was pronounced dead at Hendrick Medical Center in Brownwood. He was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger and not wearing a seat belt, the report states.
According to the preliminary DPS report, Chapa’s vehicle pulled out and turned left from a roadside park, crashing head-on with a 2016 Dodge Challenger. The driver of the Challenger was Tiffany A. Lofaso, 38, of Killeen. She was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with serious injury. She was wearing a seat belt. A passenger in the car was a 15 year-old male from Killeen who was transported to Hendrick Medical Center in Brownwood with stable injury. He was wearing a seat belt.
The crash, which happened at 9:25 am Tuesday, remains under investigation.
