The Brownwood City Council on Monday approved the sale of 18.145 acres from the Brownwood Municipal Development District to Trafalgar Homes for $160,000.
Trafalgar Homes intends to build in the neighborhood of 100 single-story apartment units, with a ground-breaking on the project expected in December or January and the first units to be ready in the summer.
“The MDD is going to reimburse them for water lines, sewer lines and an extension of Mustang Drive building up a street up $350,000,” BMDD Executive Director Ray Tipton added. “Then the City is going to waive up to $150,000 in permits.”
The apartment units will be located at Milam Drive across from the Indian Creek Townhomes, which were also constructed by Trafalgar Homes. Longhorn Townhomes in Early and Bear Creek Townhomes in Early are also Trafalgar Homes properties.
“These will be market rate apartments,” Tipton said.
