Last week the U.S. Census Bureau released the data from the 2020 census. The population of Brownwood is 18,862, down 2.20% from the 2010 count of 19,288. The population of Brown County remained constant at 38,095, down only eleven persons from 38,106 in 2010. Meanwhile the state of Texas saw large growth of 15.90%, growing to 29,145,505 persons from the 2010 count of 25,145,561.
