The Brownwood Lady Lions began their cross country campaign Thursday evening at the Birdville Early Bird Invitational and earned a third-place team finish with 56 points.
Brownwood trailed only meet champion Weatherford (48 points) and runner-up Birdville (51) points and placed ahead of Peaster (98), Fort Worth North Side (133), and Alvarado (140).
Sydney Windham led the Lady Lions’ effort with a sixth-place time of 13:27.63 followed by Kate Tindol (12th, 13:52.24), and Braycee Lee (17th, 14:16.17), who each received a medal.
Also competing for Brownwood were Kyle Karnes (23rd, 14:38.78), Talia Craff (24th, 14:41.64), Emma Stegemoller (31st, 14:54.8), Kinnison Harvey (42nd, 16:10.1), Alma Bernal (56th, 16:59.89), Miranda Northcutt (57th, 17:16.62), and Jazmine Rivas (69th, 21:54.87).
The Lady Lions will be back in action Aug. 21 at the Jim Ned Invitational.
