Josepha (Jodie) Cadena passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Funeral services for Jodie will be held on Saturday, August 14. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday, August 13, at Heartland Funeral Home.
Jodie was born on December 19, 1946 in Menard to Joe and Mary (Aguirre) Saiz. She worked as a C.N.A. for Plantation Nursing Home for many years. Jodie was an avid member of Milton Avenue Baptist Church. Jodie married Alfred Cadena Sr. in 1966. They were together 55 years before his passing in 2018. She loved watching true murder shows, and “The Price is Right.” Greatest of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Jodie is survived by her children, Alfred Cadena Jr. and wife Blanca, Delia Cadena, Ruben Cadena, Raul Cadena, Christy Bates and husband L.T., Anna King and husband Steven, and Paul Cadena and wife Staci; grandchildren Mikel Cadena and Julie Sanchez, Ruben Cadena and Lauryn Garcia, Johnathon Clifton, Joseph Cadena, Reco and Valerie Cadena, Sabrina Cadena, Cecilia Cadena, Joshua Cadena, Marissa Cadena, Joseph Johnson, Sidney Cadena, Cierra Reece, Carli Schoen, Sloan Cadena, and Caiti Schoen; great-grandchildren, Mary Robles, Cydnee and Charlie Woods, Annabeth Cadena, Anthony Cadena, Ryan Cadena, Tay-vonte LittleJohn, and Nicole Clifton; and sister in-law, Dora Cadena (who was her best friend.) She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred Cadena Sr.; daughter, Delores Cadena; and siblings, Erline Ragsdale, Tony Charles, Daniel Saiz, and Maria Saiz.
