The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce’s back-to-school new shoe drive, held on Wednesday, was very successful. The “Kicks 4 Kids” project, in its second year, collected more than 125 pairs of new shoes, as well as $330 in cash donations, which will be used to purchase more shoes.
The winning donor was the Brownwood Rotary Club, which donated 18 pair of new shoes.
The new shoes will be distributed to area schools for students in need of new shoes for the new school year. The project is sponsored by the Young Professionals organization of the Brownwood Chamber, and Weakley-Watson Hardware.
