Fred Boshers, 85, of Brownwood, Texas, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by family Thursday, July 22, 2021.
The beloved husband, father and grandfather was born to Andrew and Ella Mae Boshers on September 18, 1935 in Alvaredo, Texas. His family moved to Duncanville, Texas where he graduated in 1955. He met and married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Sopfe in 1957 and graduated from North Texas State University in 1959, with a degree in secondary education and physics while working on and receiving a second degree in chemistry.
In 1966, he and his family moved to Brownwood for a job as a chemist at 3M Company. He retired from 3M in 1998 and spent some time traveling with his wife and family. He worked for a few years teaching chemistry labs at Howard Payne University. In his later years he and his wife enjoyed antiquing, travel and many hobbies relating to science.
Fred is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughters Paula Sheedy and husband Mark, and Karen Scaff and husband Johnny. His grandchildren Kim, Alexis, Amy and John. He also has five great-grandchildren. All who loved him referred to his as their beloved PawPaw.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and grandson A.J.
Fred loved God, his family, his church and all of his friends and relatives. He will always be remembered as a kind, loving and caring man who never met a stranger.
A celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, July 25th at 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Brownwood.
