Franklin Abbey, age 77, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021, in Comanche, Texas.
He was born on August 18, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, to E.W. and Fannie P. (Clawson) Abbey. On April 4, 1970, he was united in marriage to Nita Bowdoin in Crockett, Texas. She preceded him in death on August 7, 2001. In 2002, he married Jerry Robinson in Comanche, Texas. She preceded him in death on November 5, 2014. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. Franklin was a loving father and grandfather. For many years he drove a wrecker for Bayer Motor Company. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He is survived by his daughter Shelley Barron and husband Randall of Comanche; grandchildren, Racheal Barron, Rylie Barron, Reese Barron, Ryan Barron, and Payton Freeman; sister, Mary Chancellor; and brother, Eugene Abbey.
Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steven Schulte offiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County. Condolences may be offered on line at www.comanchefh.com
