Three Brown County residents – Bill Blagg, Steve Bales, and Carl Boivin – were recently honored for their contributions and volunteerism by the Texas Big Country Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Blagg and Bales both volunteered between 500 and 1,000 hours over the past year while Boivin, a recent addition, volunteered more than 200 hours in approximately six months.
“Bill and Steve are the best volunteers we have in Brownwood,” said Tammy Davis with the Texas Big Country Chapter of the American Red Cross. “They do the most amazing job to help the clients and the Red Cross. Bill got the yearly volunteer award and Steve got the outstanding volunteer award. The bronze award for Carl is based on the amount of hours he worked. Since he is a new volunteer that is actually really good. “
The Texas Big Country Chapter of the American Red Cross serves 38 counties and more than 680,000 people from Wichita Falls to Brownwood and all areas in between.
