The Early Longhorns earned 10 accolades while the Bangs Dragons received nine as all-District 8-3A baseball honors were recently announced.
Early was named Coaching Staff of the Year, Bangs’ Ethan Sanchez was tabbed Defensive MVP and Longhorn Caydon Laird and Dragon Brayton Wedeman shared Co-Utility Player of the Year honors.
First-team selections for Early were pitcher Rylie Hill, outfielder Tyson Tyler, infielder Jeremy Brown, and designated hitter Rode Walters.
The lone first-team selection for Bangs was outfielder Trevor Bowers.
Landing on the second team for the Dragons were infielders Ethan Cortez, Ethan Ethridge and Guy Powell, along with outfielders Wyatt Lykins and Evan Belez.
Longhorns making the second team were infielders Bradly Roman, John Stewart Gordon and Caleb McCullough, along with outfielder Frankie Villarreal.
Bangs’ Samuel Packer received honorable mention.
Early finished 23-10, second overall in district, and reached the third round of the playoffs under head coach Todd Hatton, while Bangs went 15-13, placed third in district and reached the bi-district round under head coach Steven Biera.
Brock won the District 8-3A championship and went on to play in the state tournament, falling to London, 7-2, in the semifinals.
