Paul Romero Salazar, Sr., age 89, of Brownwood left his earthly home Friday, May 14, at Senior Care in Brownwood.
Paul was born March 2, 1932 at Lake Brownwood, the son of Amado and Jesusa Romero Salazar. He was the last of thirteen kids born to this family. He married Amanda Hinagoe Cardona in San Angelo and they were married fifty years. He had lived in Brown County all his life and had worked as a laborer. He loved fishing, camping, hunting, and being in the outdoors. He was a very hard worker and loved to party with his family and drive the back roads while travelling the country. He was a member of St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, wife Amanda Salazar, daughter Almarose Salazar Tobias, and his twelve siblings.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, George Salazar and wife Guadalupe and Paul Salazar and wife Guadalupe; two daughters, Amanda Urteaga and husband Ralph and Olga Castillo and husband John; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; and several extended family and friends.
Recital of the rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Heritage Funeral Home Davis-Morris Chapel. Christian mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Brownwood with Father Bhaskar Mendem officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home Davis-Morris Chapel in Brownwood.
