Jay Conley “J.C.” Rogers, 68, of Brownwood passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021. The family is planning a private family graveside.
J.C. was born January 23, 1953 in Odessa, Texas to Hoyt and Vickie Rogers. He graduated from Odessa High school and worked as a welder on the pipeline following in his father’s shoes. J.C. enjoyed horses, Bar-B-Que, drinking beer, welding and playing horse shoes. He was a kind man who had a soft spot for people who were down on their luck, even when his situation wasn’t any better. J.C. never met a stranger, he was a hard worker who loved his boys and his grandchildren. Sometimes he had a short fuse and sometimes he just liked to bicker with people. His nickname was Rooster, a name politely given and well placed because he could be a little crazy.
J.C. is survived by his sons, Jason Rogers and wife, Christina, Nicholas Rogers and wife, Kristina Jones, and Eric Rogers, all of Odessa; grandchildren, Anthony Rogers, Desiree Rogers & Abby Jones all of Odessa; cousins, Larry and Jan Hensley of Odessa; niece, Melissa and several friends.
J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt Conley Rogers and Vickie Cornwell Rogers.
