On Sunday, May 2, 2021, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Officer James Holdar was patrolling in the 2100 block of Coggin Avenue when he observed a camo-colored pickup swerve into oncoming traffic and commit other traffic violations.
Officer Holdar attempted to initiate a traffic stop on 11th St .at Coggin Ave. but the pickup refused to stop. Officer Holdar followed the pickup with his emergency lights and siren activated as it traveled onto various streets. The pickup continued to drive and turn onto side streets, ultimately completing a full circle of a large block radius before it came to stop at a residence on 11th St.
The driver exited the vehicle and was identified as 55-year-oldAlfred Aguirre of Brownwood. Aguirre was arrested for Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle and further charged with Possession of Marijuana after a small quantity of the substance was located inside the pickup. Aguirre gave no reason for refusing to stop except that he was lost, while looking for his home.
