LUBBOCK – Two of Brownwood High School’s three entries in the UIL Region I-4A tennis tournament reached the second round before bowing out Wednesday at Texas Tech University’s MacLeod Tennis Center.
In girls doubles action, the District 6-4A champions Lillian Jonescue and Aaliyah Uvalle defeated Rodriguez and Serros of San Elizario, 6-2, 6-2, before falling to Goodman and Oznick of Vernon, 6-3, 6-1.
Competing in boys singles was 6-4A runner-up Mo Goff, who knocked off Andy Patemaude of Benbrook, 6-1, 6-1, before coming up short against Eric Torres of San Angelo Lake View, 6-3, 7-6 [0].
The District 6-4A mixed doubles championship team of Peter Le and Victoria Ramos dropped their first-round match to Ramirez and Weatherly of Vernon, 6-3, 6-3.
