The American Southwest Conference today announced the 2020-21 women’s soccer All-Conference awards, and four Howard Payne University players were recognized on the lists.
Kate Van Wyk – 3rd Team All-ASC – Defender
Starting in seven matches for the Lady Jackets, Van Wyk was an anchor for the HPU defense, logging 587 minutes of action.
Emily McClendon – Honorable Mention All-ASC – Midfielder
Starting in six of eight matches played for Howard Payne, McClendon scored one goal and recorded one assist, and logged 510 minutes of playing time. She was named ASC Player of the Week once this season.
Marisah Mata – Honorable Mention All-ASC – Midfielder
Mata started in all eight matches played for the Lady Jackets. She scored one goal and dished out one assist, and logged 651 minutes of playing time.
Delaney Castor – Honorable Mention All-ASC – Goalkeeper
Castor started in all eight matches for Howard Payne and led the American Southwest conference in saves (87) and saves per game (10.88).
